
Since Friday night, at least 13 individuals have been shot throughout Chicago, including two men who were killed after being shot in their cars three miles apart on the South Side.
A guy opened shot from a sidewalk at a 38-year-old man who was driving west in the 500 block of West 95th Street in Washington Heights at around 10:40 p.m., according to Chicago police. After being shot several times, the driver was taken to Christ Hospital, where he passed away.
There were no recorded arrests.
Approximately 30 minutes later, at 11:10 p.m., a 62-year-old man was shot and killed in Englewood. He was shot in the head while driving through a stop sign in the 800 block of West 71st Street, according to the police.
At the University of Chicago Medical Center, he was declared dead after being transported there. No one was detained.
In North Lawndale, a guy was discovered shot to death early on Saturday. About 5:17 a.m., the 19-year-old man was discovered outside in the 3900 block of West Fillmore Street with a gunshot wound to the chest.
There, he was pronounced dead, according to police. There were no recorded arrests.
A shooting on Saturday morning in Burnside on the South Side resulted in the death of one man and the injury of another less than an hour later.
Around 6:05 in the morning, a male and a 28-year-old man were strolling in the 9400 block of South St. Lawrence Avenue when someone approached them and opened fire, according to Chicago police. After being shot in the left arm, the 28-year-old was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he passed away, according to police.
The other individual, whose age is unknown, had a graze to the left side of his head but declined first aid, according to authorities. There were no recorded arrests. Detectives from Area 2 are looking into it.
A teenage girl and two other persons were shot at East Garfield Park at around 9 p.m., in non-fatal attacks. When shots were fired from a black automobile, the 17-year-old, a 20-year-old woman, and a 21-year-old male were in the 3300 block of West Harrison Street, according to police.
The teen was wounded in the leg and was rushed in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital. The male was shot in the body, while the woman was injured in the face. Both were taken in fair condition to the same hospital. There were no detentions.
On the Near North Side, a lady was shot inside a car around 5:05 a.m. on Saturday.
According to authorities, the 19-year-old lady was in the 100 block of West Ohio Street when she heard gunshots and felt pain. She was shot in the back and taken in stable condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Nobody was detained.
Since Friday at 5 p.m., at least four additional people have been shot in Chicago, two of whom have suffered life-threatening injuries.
In Chicago during the last weekend, at least 58 individuals were shot, eight of them fatally.
