14-year-old boy was gravely wounded in a drive-by shooting in Hyde Park

The youngster was wounded in the crotch and was rushed in serious condition to Comer Children’s Hospital.

A drive-by shooting occurred in Hyde Park on Sunday night, seriously injuring a 14-year-old kid.

He was outside in the 9400 block of South University Avenue at at 8:38 p.m. when shots were fired from a passing car, according to Chicago police.

The boy was shot in the groin, police said. He was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where his status is rated as critical.

There were no recorded arrests. Detectives in the area are investigating.
