16-year-old shot in the neighbourhood of Garfield Park

After being struck in the leg while seated on a porch Sunday night, the youngster is in good condition at Stroger Hospital, according to police.

According to authorities, a male kid who was shot in the leg in the Garfield Park neighbourhood is doing well.

About 7:45 p.m. on Sunday, the 16-year-old was hit by gunfire when he was sitting on a porch in the 4100 block of West Van Buren Street, according to Chicago police.

He had a gunshot wound to his right leg when he was brought to Stroger Hospital, but he was in good condition.

Detectives from Area Four are looking into it, and no one is in custody.
