The Los Angeles Police Department reported that during a two-day operation to combat unauthorised street takeovers, forty persons were detained and numerous vehicles were seized.
According to the LAPD, it occurred on Friday and Saturday at several places throughout Southern California.
Police say that in addition to the arrests, 34 vehicles were seized, 82 tickets were issued, and “several” street takeovers were stopped in their tracks.
According to the authorities, one of those detained had a warrant out for attempted murder, while another had a loaded ghost pistol.
The LAPD tweeted, “The collaborative efforts by everyone involved made an impact and sent a message – we will not condone this illegal and often deadly behavior.”
A day after the LAPD promised increased enforcement efforts to stop street takeovers, arrests have already been made.
