A man from Iowa is detained following an officer-involved shooting in northeast Missouri

Following an officer-involved shooting in Monroe County, Missouri, a guy from western Iowa is in custody.

Just after 12:44 a.m. on Saturday, Highway 15 south of Paris, Missouri, received a report of a shooting.

To look into the occurrence, the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control dispatched some troopers.

Austin Leigh, 41, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, was detained as a result of their inquiry. He was transported with non-life-threatening wounds to a neighbouring hospital.

Three felony counts of fourth-degree domestic violence, previous domestic offender, and one felony count of resisting arrest are brought against Leigh.

He is being held without bond in detention.
