A woman perishes after falling from the North Tonawanda railroad bridge

According to North Tonawanda Police, a woman, 37, died Friday night after falling into the deck of a railroad bridge.

The report states that woman fell from the top of a lift bridge after North Tonawanda and City of Tonawanda officers responded to a call at 8:31 p.m. to the bridge near Sweeney Street and Oliver Street.

She was found dead at the scene with multiple blunt force injuries, according to police. They observed that it didn’t seem like a train had hit her.

According to the report, officials from the City of Tonawanda brought a large number of witnesses to the North Tonawanda police station to provide testimony.

While notifying the victim’s next of kin, the identify of the victim is being withheld.
