After a home invasion and robbery of an elderly woman in Beverly Grove, a suspect was apprehended

LOS ANGELES – Authorities reported that a suspect was detained the day after a senior person was robbed, pistol-whipped, and zip-tied inside her home in the wealthy Beverly Grove neighbourhood during the day.

Just after 2:30 pm on Wednesday, officers from the Los Angeles Police Department were called to a residence in the 6000 block of West Fifth Street, which is close to the intersection of South San Vicente Boulevard and Sixth Street.

According to LAPD officials, a man broke into the victim’s home, tied her up, pistol-whipped her, and stole jewellery valued at hundreds of thousands of dollars. The suspect fled the site of the heist in a beige SUV.

The elderly woman was attacked and suffered just minor wounds; she will likely recover completely.

Rolex watches were among the stolen property, and the woman is said to have a company that involves collecting jewellery, according to detectives. According to LAPD investigators, she was targeted by someone who knew she owned expensive jewellery and that it was at her home.

Detectives from the LAPD worked all through the night before announcing early on Thursday that the man wanted for the crime had been taken into custody.

The victim’s and suspect’s identities have not been made public by the authorities.
