At a Northridge engagement party, a man from Anaheim was fatally shot

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a fight between two men during an engagement party in Northridge late on Sunday resulted in one of them being shot to death.

It took place in the party rental hall’s parking lot in the vicinity of 19500 Parthenia Street just after midnight.

Police said that during that argument, the 30-year-old suspect shot the 29-year-old victim, Edgar Rodriguez of Anaheim, many times, before fleeing the scene. The suspect was identified to police by numerous witnesses, but his name has not been made public because of the ongoing search for him.

According to the officials, Rodriguez attended the party as a guest. There were also his mother, wife, and two young children.

A second man was pistol-whipped and given first aid on the spot.
