
On Saturday in Bridgeport, a cyclist was killed when he was struck by a car.
Around 3:35 p.m., the 55-year-old man was riding his bicycle west in the 400 block of West 26th Street when an SUV travelling in the same direction struck the back of it, according to Chicago police.
According to authorities, the man was pinned underneath the SUV after falling off his bicycle.
According to the Cook County medical examiner’s office and the police, he was transferred to Stroger Hospital, where he passed away at about 4:20 p.m.
The SUV’s 60-year-old female driver received a citation for running a stop sign, according to the police.
