Calumet Heights shooting victim dies

The 30-year-old man was shot in the lower back and neck on Monday. After being transported, he passed away at the University of Chicago Medical Center.

In the South Side community of Calumet Heights, a man was shot and died on Monday.

The 30-year-old male was shot in the neck and lower torso when he was walking in the 1600 block of East 93rd Street on Monday, according to Chicago police.

According to the Cook County medical examiner’s office and the police, he was transferred to the University of Chicago Medical Center in severe condition, where he subsequently passed away. His identity has not been made public.

There were no recorded arrests.
