During the Labor Day weekend, a student from Triton Central High School died in a car accident

A Triton Central High School student was killed in a car accident over the Labor Day holiday, according to a Shelby County school district’s announcement on Sunday.

According to a post made on Facebook on Sunday by the Northwestern Consolidated School District of Shelby County, Nick Winter, a member of Triton Central High School’s Class of 2024, passed away in a tragic vehicle accident over the weekend.

The Shelby County Coroner’s Office reported that they were contacted about the collision just before 9 a.m. on Saturday. A 16-year-old guy who was reportedly from the area and a student at a nearby high school died at the scene from blunt force trauma, according to the coroner.

The method of death, the coroner added, is found to be an accident and a toxicology report is awaiting.

The coroner reported that the collision occurred on London Road. At first, investigators claimed that Frontage Road was the scene.

Triton Central Schools announced on Facebook that the TCHS gym will be available for any students willing to congregate on Monday at 6 p.m. The school announced that counselling and support services will also be offered on Monday and the rest of the week.
