In a plane crash in Yuma County, the pilot and passenger died

On Friday afternoon, a plane crashed in Yuma County, killing two individuals, according to officials.

According to reports, a trooper with the Arizona Department of Public Safety was on patrol at Spot Road and Interstate 8 in Dateland when they noticed a “huge cloud of smoke.”

In the desert, a little plane was found completely consumed in flames.

Deputies from Yuma County discovered the pilot and a passenger’s body. Names were withheld.

The plane was identified as a Van’s RV-6 two-seater, and the incident is being looked into.

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information to get in touch.
