In Culver City, a guy was allegedly attacked and robbed while hiding in his tent

According to police, one man was detained for allegedly beating and robbing a homeless man who was sleeping in his tent in Culver City.

According to Culver City Police, Anthony Paul Yanez, 32, was charged on Monday with assault with a deadly weapon for the attack on October 5.

Officers were called to a report of a guy bleeding profusely at a gas station on Sepulveda Boulevard that morning. The victim reported to police that two suspects entered the homeless camp where he was sleeping in his tent, pepper sprayed him, and then beat him in the head with a hammer.

After stealing the victim’s belongings, the suspects left the area in an unkown direction. After then, the victim spent many days in the hospital in critical condition.

Police did not disclose whether they have any leads on the second robbery suspect. The Culver City Police were requesting that anyone with information on this case contact them.
