Mae Brown was discovered unconscious in a wheelchair at the Lincoln Perry senior residences in the 3200 block of South Prairie Avenue at around 3:40 p.m., according to police. Someone had called the police to report being unable to reach her.
According to a police report, she suffered injuries to her face and head when she was declared dead at the site.
According to the Cook County medical examiner’s office, an autopsy revealed that Brown had been assaulted and received injuries as a result, and her death was classified as a homicide.
There have been no detentions.
