In North Austin, a man with a concealed carry license strikes the carjacker during a gunshot

On the West Side of North Austin early on Monday, a man with a concealed carry permit shot and injured an armed carjacker.

Around 1:25 a.m., the carjacker opened fire on the guy who was in his car in the 5500 block of West Crystal Street, according to Chicago police.

According to authorities, the man shot the carjacker back and struck him in the chest. He was brought in serious condition to Loyola University Medical Center. On-site, his gun was found and recovered.

The CCL-carrying man sustained no injuries.
