In two separate shootings on the South Side, two boys were shot outside of their houses

A 3-year-old kid with a wound to his left elbow was brought in good condition to Comer Children’s Hospital. A boy, age 8, received a grazing wound to his leg.

Shots fired from outside on the South Side Wednesday night struck two small children as they were inside their houses.

Just before 10 o’clock in the evening, bullets were fired in the 700 block of East 93rd Street while a 3-year-old boy was asleep, according to police.

The youngster was discovered by a family member with a gunshot wound to his left elbow and was transported in good condition to Comer Children’s Hospital, according to the police.

An 8-year-old child was shot at in a residence in the 3600 block of South Rhodes Avenue at about the same time, grazing his leg, but he was not sent to the hospital, according to police.

In either shooting, there were no recorded arrests.
