Authorities said that a guy was shot on Sunday in a West Oakland area.
Officers were called to a ShotSpotter report of activity around the 1000 block of 30th Street in the city’s Clawson neighbourhood at around 2:55 p.m.
Officers responded to a report of a guy with a gunshot wound in the 3000 block of Chestnut Street and treated him until paramedics and Oakland Fire Department crews arrived. He was brought to the hospital, where his status was later noted as stable.
Police said in a statement late Sunday that investigators later discovered “the victim acquired their injuries at a shooting that occurred in the 2500 block of 63rd Avenue.”
After closing off the lanes of traffic, officers searched the area and discovered numerous casings. Police did not give descriptions of any suspects or the vehicles they were affiliated with.
