Near Everett, a woman was shot and killed during a home invasion

WASHINGTON, Everett – Police are looking into a fatal house invasion that happened Friday morning close to Everett.

At around three in the morning, according to investigators, deputies responded to a report of a house invasion in the 2600 block of 96th Street Southeast in unincorporated Everett.

When deputies arrived, they discovered a woman dead at the site from a gunshot wound.

Investigators said that three individuals broke into the house and shot the victim, who was on the second floor.

According to investigators, the woman’s husband argued with the suspects before leaving the house to call for assistance.

One of the suspects, according to the investigators, was wearing a mask, and another had facial paint. Deputies reported that a car might have been involved when the suspects fled from the house. There is no evidence of the suspects.

In addition to informing neighbours, deputies have been looking through the neighbourhood for any security footage.

Three house invasions have occurred in the neighbourhood this year, according to investigators. It’s unclear whether this act was intended or accidental.
