Near Rugby, a two-vehicle crash results in one death and two injuries

In a two-vehicle collision three miles east of Rugby on Thursday evening, a New Jersey man was murdered and two other people were hurt.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol said that a pickup vehicle being operated by a 15-year-old Rugby boy was going south when it crossed U.S. Highway 2 at the intersection of 33rd Avenue Northeast and collided with another pickup truck that was travelling east on Highway 2.

The 53-year-old New Jersey driver of the second car was thrown from it and died as a result of his terrible injuries. The second car spun and went into a ditch. A 50-year-old Louisiana woman passenger was transported to the hospital after sustaining significant wounds.

The first truck’s Rugby driver received medical attention at a hospital before being released.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol is still looking into the crash.
