
On Wednesday morning, an Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper risked his life to stop a wrong-way vehicle in eastern Arizona.
According to DPS, the trooper struck a wrong-way driver on Interstate 40 in Sanders.
According to a statement from DPS spokesman Bart Graves, “a DPS trooper used his patrol vehicle to stop a wrong way driver and avoided a fatal or serious injury collision.”
The driver of the vehicle travelling the wrong way was apprehended.
There were no reported injuries. The collision didn’t involve any other automobiles.
Investigations into the incident’s impairment are ongoing.
Due to the collision, westbound I-40 was closed at milepost 340.
