One of the two accused in the carjacking in Humboldt Park is 14 years old

In connection with an armed carjacking that occurred in the Humboldt Park neighbourhood on Wednesday, two teenage males are accused of the crime.

According to Chicago police, two teenagers, ages 14 and 17, are accused of stealing a car from a 31-year-old man in the 800 block of North Kedzie Avenue at gunpoint.

The youngsters got out of the automobile and ran on foot when police officers noticed the stolen vehicle in traffic and started a traffic stop, according to police.

The 17-year-old was detained one block to the west of where the 14-year-old was detained, in the 3500 block of West Roosevelt Road.

Each boy is charged with possessing a stolen vehicle and one count of aggravated vehicle hijacking with a firearm.
