Police: A 25-year-old man was shot multiple times in the Wynnefield driveway before dying

The Philadelphia Police Department’s investigators are trying to find out more information about a gunshot that happened on Tuesday morning and claimed the life of a man.

Just before 12:30 a.m. in Wynnefield, police said that officers responded to reports of gunshots and a person shot at 52nd and Berks Streets.

Police were called to the location, where they allegedly discovered a 25-year-old male with several gunshot wounds to the chest and torso laying in a driveway.

The man was taken to Lankenau Medical Center by police, where he was later declared dead at 12:45 a.m., according to authorities.

Authorities said the man is presently designated as a John Doe and is unidentified.

At the crime site, 10 shell casings, according to investigators.

According to the police, it appears that the shooter and victim were extremely close together.
