Police report that a 74-year-old man was killed in New Castle while crossing the highway

Authorities in New Castle report that a 74-year-old pedestrian was killed in an early-morning collision.

The elderly man was struck by two automobiles just before 6 a.m. on Saturday, according to the police, as he crossed South Dupont Highway.

On the spot, he was determined to be dead. His identity has not yet been made public.

At the location, which was apparently dark and poorly lit, both cars reportedly came to a stop. Neither of the drivers was hurt.
