Uber and US Coachways have partnered to enable individuals in South Florida to book vans or buses through the Uber app for group transportation.
Uber users may now book trips for parties of six to 55 people for destinations in Miami and the surrounding tri-county area using the new Uber Charter service.
The transportation will be provided by US Coachways, and reservations for the trips must be made at least three days prior to pickup. The price will depend on the number of people, the length of the trip, and the accessibility of automobiles.
Uber South region spokesman Javi Correoso stated that Miami is a crucial market for the company and that they recently launched an office there. “[Uber Charter] is a new service and one that many people have been curious about for a while now.” The innovation and improvements taking place, according to US Coachways Chief Marketing Officer Joseph Heap, make this a “great time to be in the ground transportation industry.”
The minimum three-day notice needed for reservations is the main distinction between using the Uber app to request a one-person transport and using Uber Charter service.
For their group travels, app users can book charter cars ranging from sprinter vans to buses. To verify and complete Uber Charter’s requests, US Coachways collaborates with regional transportation providers.
Uber Charter is accessible in Orlando and Tampa in addition to the counties of Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach. So, parties can also book a charter flight from South Florida to those two Florida destinations. Uber Charter made its Texas debut in the Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston regions in July.
According to Correoso, the nationwide group transportation service will be extended in the upcoming months to additional cities and states.
