Washington Park shooting leaves 5 injured, 3 critically

A shooting occurred early on Saturday at Washington Park on the South Side, injuring five individuals.

According to Chicago police, when officers went to a report of shots fired just after midnight, they discovered numerous persons had been shot in the 6200 block of South Michigan Avenue.

Three victims—a 40-year-old lady, two 32- and 38-year-old men—all sustained several gunshot wounds and were sent in critical condition to the University of Chicago Medical Center.

A 32-year-old male was shot in the mouth, while a 31-year-old man was struck in the leg. In good condition, both men were transported to St. Bernard Hospital.

No one was being held in custody.
