
LOS ANGELES – Police are looking for suspects after a shooting occurred in the Wilmington district of Los Angeles on Tuesday afternoon, leaving one lady dead and two others injured.
The 800 block of North Lagoon Avenue, approximately a mile from Los Angeles Harbor College, received calls of a shooting shortly after 2 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Three people had been shot when police officers arrived on the scene: a 20-year-old woman, a 20-year-old man, and a 45-year-old woman.
The Los Angeles Fire Department has confirmed that all three of the patients were taken to the hospital. The other two are reportedly in stable condition, but the 20-year-old woman passed away from her wounds.
Two males reportedly drove up to the house, got out, and then started firing, according to witnesses. The 20-year-old victim was not the primary target, according to a relative, but her boyfriend who was standing next to her was. He wasn’t struck.
According to family members, they had just come from a funeral and were hosting the reception at their house when they left for the cemetery. The shooting took place at that time.
Police did not give any details of the two male suspects they claimed to be looking for.
